- Korean Grammar -


Polite endings : -hamnida and -jiman


For example, 


Shillye hamnida = Excuse me


Shillye-jiman = I'm sorry but....( Sentence continues)



Jiman = But (Abbreviation of the verb and stem Ha-jiman)


Where is it?

odieyo / odi issoyo = Where is

 
For example,



Hakkyo-ga odieyo? / Hakkyo-gaodi issoyo? Where is the school?


Answering a "Where is" question

 
Hakkyo-ga kogi issoyo = The school is over there.



The verb "issoyo" must be included.



Polite requests

Chom = Please



"Chom" is most frequently using in relation to chu- when making requests, for example
 

Han songsaengnim chom pakkwo-juseyo? = Can I speak to Mr Han?


Soju chom chuseyo = Please give me the Soju
